Lollipop Bloom

Lollipop Bloom
So my new favorite website is Pinterest.  I find myself there all the time. It's a wonderful place to get ideas for almost anything you can think of. Some people are just so creative; I love it! Pinterest is where I find the idea to create this adorable flower bloom for my play-mom's birthday!

Isn't it just  the cutest thing?!  I pinned it to my board (yes, without hesitation I became a member), check it out here.

Can you believe it was super easy to make?!?!  The hardest part was choosing what paper to use. I, of course, altered mine a bit from the one I saw posted on Pinterest. I used a tin can instead of a flower pot. I had a few lying around the house so I figured, why not.  I also had some leaves left over from a floral arrangement I did a while back. I knew they would come in handy one day :) Jennie Schow, another Pinterest member, creating one using a box with a tag that read,"30 Sucks! Happy Birthday" - How Freaking CUTE!?!?!

Read on if you would like to know how I did it. If not, you can close out here (take care :)

As with my other post, I'm not going to give exact, in-depth, step-by-step instructions. My style is more a basic, general over view of how I construct things since  it takes me forever to post anything and when I do I can never remember exactly how I made it this project can be customized to fit your personal style and event. Hopefully, I will learn to be more patient and take better notes so that I can get you more detailed information. Until then, please feel free to comment with any questions.

How it was Crafted

    Tin Can and Styrofoam Ball
  • styrofoam ball
  • tin can
  • bag of lollipops
  • scrapbook paper, stickers and embellishments
  • paper cutter, scissors and punches
  • strong glue or tape
  •  lollipop stick, popsicle stick, or small dowel
  1. Decorate your can by first  wrapping your scrapbook paper around the can. Glue each layer separately. Then add stickers and other embellishments.
  2. Push the styrofoam ball into the top of your decorated can.
  3. Starting close to top of the can and working your way around,  push your lollipops into the styrofoam ball to create the first layer.
  4. Continue this process of adding more lollipop layer by layer, working your way to the top of the ball until it is fully covered.
  5. Decorate your stick with your tag and insert at the top.
Enjoy and have fun!

Stay blessed, Carmen
